“ | You IDIOT! You made me, remember? You dropped me into that vat of chemicals. That wasn’t easy to get over, and don’t think that I didn’t try. | „ |
~ Joker |
Nemeses are Pure Evils who were created as a result of the hero's actions. These characters became villains as a result of the actions of the heroes. Often times, nemeses are vengeful and want revenge against the heroes for their actions. While many portrayals of nemeses may have a sympathetic backstory or may give them a plausible reason to commit their acts, the reasons behind these nemeses actions cannot be justified. Hence, whatever issues these villains encountered with the hero in the past cannot be justified by their own actions.
These type of villains are the opposites to the provokers. Whereas the provoker had committed an act serious enough to get the heroes to take them on, the nemeses was personally provoked by the actions of the heroes and chose to take action into their own hands.
