What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • On several occasions, he has killed deputy police officers on his property for the sole reason of not liking them due to the fact they have authority over him.
  • Whenever he kills a police officer, he cooks and sells their flesh at his motel/shop as "beef jerky", allowing a family of four to eat the "jerky" not knowing what it is, including a small baby that could easily get sick and die from eating human flesh.
  • Joe is a notorious rapist, having committed unknown amounts of rapes on countless women because having power over someone and hurting them sexually excites him. He nearly rapes one of the female protagonists, Lauren, until her sister Sarah makes a deal with him saying if she manages to get a group of three women for him to rape instead, he'll let them go. He agrees, and once she returns with them, he tells her that she just made a "deal with the Devil".
  • After his deal with the sisters, he decides to kidnap them again anyway by sending Bunnyman out to re-capture them.
  • His hatred of women is blatant in the first two films, never once showing any woman an ounce of respect. He doesn't trust them because quote: "they bleed for a week and don't die". He also only ever calls women derogatory insults such as "bitch" and "slut".
  • He has also shown he's homophobic on one occasion, calling a group of women "F-ggots" simply because they were camping together with no men around.
  • He's incredibly sadistic, killing one of the women he had exchanged for Lauren and Sarah by stuffing her inside of a barrel that was previously used to drown someone and drilling several sharp nails into it, then kicking it down a tall hill. He also asked Sheriff Clint Baxter if he believed in God before he gouged out his eyes with his own thumbs and attempted to crush his skull, only stopping when Sheriff Baxter shot him in the neck. He has stated that he enjoys raping women because "having the power of a god" and hurting people turns him on sexually.
  • When one of his hostages tried to buy her freedom, he gropes her behind before taking $100 out of her back pocket. Feeling insulted, he punches her in the face hard enough to knock her out cold, but still greedily kept the money even though there's hardly anything he can spend it on in the desert he was in.
  • As mentioned above, he's also incredibly egotistical, having called himself God and The Devil at two points in the sequel.
  • He has also abused and killed The Bunnyman's pet rabbits several times before. When The Bunnyman tried feeding one of his rabbits some meat, he says "how many times do I have to remind you they don't eat that" and then throws the cage against a wall with the rabbit inside of it, most likely killing it. The fact that he's had to "remind" The Bunnyman means he's done this more than once.
  • He planned a massacre on a school bus full of children, with him having the Bunnyman chainsawing and attacking everyone there.
  • He never shows respect to anyone, especially not The Bunnyman himself, having insulted his failures in the past and the fact that he couldn't find his family. At the end of the second film after he's been mortally wounded by Sheriff Baxter, he still mocks and goads The Bunnyman into killing him so he wouldn't slowly bleed out, knowing already The Bunnyman wanted to kill him.
  • Ironically, he outclass Bunnyman (the main antagonist) in terms of heinousness and sadism.
  • Joe is also at least partially responsible for the Bunnyman's madness, due to his constant insults about his past failures and killing his beloved pet rabbits just to punish him.
    • In the third film, it's revealed that Joe has negatively affected the Bunnyman's mental health so much, he's shown to still haunt the Bunnyman in his dreams.
