Excellent. Now, the cyst currently growing within your eyelid, can you tell me when you first began to experience pain there?
~ Dr. Yelkov to a test subject.

Dr. Rasmin Yelkov is a renegade Russian scientist and an antagonist in the SCP Mythos currently wanted by the SCP Foundation for his role in the creation of the global pandemic SCP-1994.

History

Dr. Yelkov was tasked by his friend Dr. Grigori with finding a way to synthesize human teeth in order to satisfy his dental clients. During his search for a method, Yelkov was informed of a man living with a mystical clan of tooth fairies (SCP-478) and set out to find him. Murdering the man, Yelkov performed experiments on the tooth fairies which eventually caused them to produce SCP-1994-1, a serum which could cause human teeth to grow. Yelkov then performed experiments on an unknown number of humans involving exposure to the serum, which caused the intensely painful process of causing human teeth to grow out of the subjects, resulting in many of them dying. Yelkov managed to stabilise one, subject 019, although he had to lobotomize her in order to prevent her from dying, and sent extracted tooth specimens to Dr. Grigori to demonstrate his success. However, he then discovered that SCP-1994 was contagious, as it caused a pandemic. Yelkov also did not hear back from Dr. Grigori, assuming this meant he should continue his work, although Grigori had most likely just been infected and died.

When the Foundation heard of Yelkov's experiments, they raided his lab, and found nine of his test subjects, seven of whom had died, and several extracted specimens and vials of the serum. However, they failed to apprehend Yelkov, who escaped with several of his test subjects and remains at large, presumably continuing his experiments.

What Makes Him Pure Evil

  • He killed the man who lived with the SCP-478 clan after he refused to let him experiment on them because he believed they needed to be preserved, giving the reason that "I do not have time for fairy stories".
  • He experimented on the SCP-478 clan until he discovered their bodies reacted with sodium monofluorophosphate and hexafluorosilicic acid, at which point he burned them with the substances until they produced SCP-1994-1.
  • He abducted at least 19 human subjects (but almost certainly more) and exposed them to SCP-1994-1 in his experiments, causing cysts to grow out of them and causing intense pain as they slowly grew before eventually becoming teeth, resulting in many deaths, something which Yelkov only saw as minor setbacks.
  • He lobotomized subject 019.
  • His SCP-1994-1 serum spread and caused a pandemic which lead to many people having the same experience as his test subjects, which Dr. Yelkov once again only regarded as a minor setback, even sending Dr. Grigori samples that infected and killed him and arrogantly deciding his silence meant he should keep working.
